Cryptic
Using Cryptic, you can create and solve professional quality crossword
puzzles. When an existing crossword is opened, you enter play mode which allows
complete crosswords to be played. Several crosswords are included in the
package.

Cryptic has a zoomed out view (shown above) in which the clues are visible
as the cursor moves over the start of a word, and a zoomed in view (below),
which is easier to read (with clues visible by pressing Psion-Enter).

You can use Cryptic to design your own crosswords - select New from the Menu,
or run Cryptic without a file, and it asks for a grid size. This is the
size of the square (in letters) for your own crossword. Cryptic then enters grid mode
where you define the letters in the squares, and which are black.
When you have completed the grid, it can be fixed via a menu option,
taking you into clue mode. In this mode, you define the clues for each of
the words in the grid (1 across, 7 down etc.). You can save the file like this - once
all clues are defined, the file will open in play mode. Alternatively, saving with
"Competition save" saves the grid and clues without the answers.
Full instructions on installing Cryptic, sample crosswords, etc.
are all contained in the package, which
you can download in ZIP format from here.
